Benefits Of Coconuts For Hair
Because of the chemical treatments and styling done on the hair, along with environmental exposure the hair strands become dull, lifeless and fragile. They easily break and we are caught in the cycle of hair fall. However there are ways to avoid this. Coconut oil has certain properties which can save the hair from further damage . Let us look at some of the benefits of the ingredient.
Hair is after all a protein and consists of three layers. Various chemical treatments cause the hair to lose the protein from the thickest layer of the hair which is called cortex. If used properly, coconut oil can reduce protein loss.
Coconut oil healthily penetrates hair shaft and can thus protect the hair from dryness thereby replenishing moisture.
As compared to other oils, due to its low molecular weight, coconut oil is easily absorbed into the hair shaft keeping the hair moisturised.
Coconut oil is useful for any hair type, more so if you have dry, frizzy hair which is prone to breakage. It is especially useful for curly hair as keeping curls hydrated is a difficult process.
